Building a Loss Adjuster Platform with Laravel and Kissflow

Insurance claims are complex. They involve multiple stakeholders, strict timelines, and a lot of documentation. When the claims department at Rex Insurance needed a better way to manage loss adjusters and their field assignments, I was tasked with building a solution.

The Problem

The existing process was fragmented. Claims officers initiated tasks manually, loss adjusters received assignments through informal channels, and tracking progress was difficult. The result was delays, miscommunication, and inefficiency.

The Solution

I designed and delivered a Loss Adjuster Platform that centralizes the entire workflow — from task initiation to field inspection to final closure.

Kissflow Integration

The platform integrates directly with Kissflow via API. Claims officers can initiate tasks from within the platform, which automatically triggers the corresponding workflow in Kissflow. This means no duplication of effort and a single source of truth for all task statuses.

The Dashboard

Loss adjusters get a dedicated dashboard where they can see all their assigned tasks, update statuses, submit field findings, and attach supporting documents. This replaced a process that previously relied on email chains and phone calls.

The Stack

The platform was built with Laravel on the backend with MySQL as the database. The Kissflow integration was handled via their REST API.

The Impact

Since deployment, task turnaround has improved significantly. Claims officers can now initiate and track tasks in real time, and loss adjusters have a clear, structured workflow to follow.
